I think every website that has done a review of Jamplay guitar lessons only tells you the positive things Jamplay has to offer.

But if you truly want to make an informed decision, you have to consider both the positives and negatives.

Now, just so you know, Jamplay has some incredible features and are an incredible choice if you want to learn the electric guitar. However, we all know that no product is perfect.

After learning from Jamplay guitar lessons, here are what I perceive as the negatives:

1. Almost too much information – when you want to learn electric guitar online it can be overwhelming joining any guitar membership site because of the pure volume of information. These companies tend to put more and more content on their site to attract people. This is understandable, but if you are a complete newbie, sometimes you don’t know where to start.

Jamplay guitar lessons are no different. You should be fine if you stay focused on the lesson plan they provide to get you started , but be careful not to get too distracted by everything else until you know the basics.

2. The forums – forums are not negative per se because you can learn a lot from other members and get your questions answered. The issue with the forums is that you can spend countless hours reading and writing posts that you don’t do what you are there to do – learn to play the guitar.

Just make sure to stay focused on what you are there to do and you should be fine.

3. Private instruction – just like any other online guitar site, with Jamplay guitar lessons you don’t have private one-on-one instruction.

With Jamplay, however, you do have the option of submitting your questions and having them answered by the instructors. But this is not like having one-on-one private instruction from a private instructor.

This can be a negative if you are the type that needs that hand holding approach with someone guiding you every step of the way. However, there’s a trade-off – with private instruction comes more cost. So, even though you don’t have a private instructor guiding you every step of the way with online guitar instruction, you also only pay a fraction of the cost.

So, before you start with Jamplay guitar lessons, make your you consider both the positives and negatives.
